Please disregard any mailings offering to retrieve a copy of a property deed from the County Clerk or County Recorder for a large fee. Copies of any deed recorded in Tioga County can be obtained from the County Clerk's office for a cost of $0.65 per page and a Certified copy can be issued for $5 plus $0.65 per page. Property owners should be aware that if their deed was recorded in the Clerk's office it has been recorded and remains valid even if they do not have a copy in their possession.

The County Clerk's office is responsible for recording Deeds, Mortgages and other real property related documents within the County. In addition, the County Clerk is the clerk of the Supreme and County Courts. As the clerk of those Courts, the County Clerk is responsible for preserving the records of the Supreme Court, the criminal records of the County Court, and collecting fines ordered by the County Court.
